Etihad Airways allows passengers to carry cats and dogs in cabin
According to the Etihad airline’s website, passengers flying on Etihad Airways flights can now pay to bring their cat or dog with them in the cabin.
The pets (cat or dog) must be at least 16-week old and weigh no more than 8kg, including the carrier weight. While the passenger must be at least 18 years old to travel with a pet.
Bookings have to be submitted at least 72 hours before travel via an online booking form, with details declared such as the pet’s microchip number, a certified health certificate and a fit-to-travel certificate.
The prices start from $150 (Dh550) and varies according to the flights duration.
Passengers travelling in Business or First Class must purchase an extra seat in advance for their pet.
If your pet is a falcon then you will not have to pay a fee for bringing the bird into the cabin.
According to the information posted on Etihad’s website, the dog must sit within the passenger’s seat space and be harnessed, leashed or tethered at all times during the flight.
Travellers also have the option to purchase an adjacent seat for their pets to sit in their carrier.
