Uae announces new COVID-19 safety rules

Health Officials in Uae have announced new COVID-19 safety rules ahead of the country’s 50th National Day celebrations and the UAE’s Commemoration Day.

  • Face Masks will continue to remain mandatory indoors and in crowded areas.
  • All Events & Celebrations will have a maximum capacity of 80 per cent.
  • Residents must present negative results of a PCR test conducted less than 96 hours prior to the event.
  • Social distancing will be implemented, everyone must remain at a physical distance of 1.5 meters. This rule does not apply to members of the same family.
  • Greetings  should be given from a distance, without handshakes or hugs.
  • People of all ages are allowed to attend the event, provided they have received a vaccine more than 14 days ago, received a booster shot, or have a green-pass status on their Al Hosn application.
  • People are required to refrain from overcrowding and monitor their symptoms.

Organizers of any events will form specialized teams to ensure that everyone is adhering to the protocol and its guidelines, the health body said. They will manage the event’s entry and exit points to prevent crowds.
