GDRFA-Dubai has introduced the ‘Biometric Passenger Journey’ system at Dubai Airports that will allow travellers to walk through the airport touchpoints by just showing their faces.
The new service enables the passengers to complete passport control procedures in 5 to 9 seconds.
Passengers can opt between smart gates or the new smart tunnel system. They can choose to use their Emirates ID or enter by showing their face at the gates. Pre-registration is required to avail the service.
122 Smart gates at arrival and departure terminals in Dubai airports have been upgraded now with the new biometric systems deployed to enable passengers to complete passport control procedures in few seconds.
FOR REGISTRATION: Passengers can register their passports on the Facial Recognition system at Emirates check-in counters.
After registration, passenger can walk through the smart gates by showing their face to camera.
Passengers can use the same process at the lounge facilities and at the boarding gates without showing their travel documents.
The launch of the new service is part of the GDRFA project team’s efforts to use technological advancements to speed up immigration processes and simplify travel procedures.
