First Case Of Monkey Pox Detected In Philippines
The Philippines has recorded its first case of Monkey-pox, the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Friday, July 29.
The Case detected in a 31-year old citizen who returned from abroad earlier this month. The patient is now in isolation. 10 Close contacts were traced, three from the same household are currently in quarantine. All have been advised to quarantine and are being monitored by the department.
The DOH urged the public to continue observing minimum health standards, noting that the viral disease can be transmitted through close contact with an infected person, animal, or contaminated materials.
